Documented features
- Each of the 11 instruments has its own strip with low-cut and high-cut filters sharing a resonance control, a two-band parametric EQ, a compressor with look-ahead, an audio output assignment and a bus send.[2][1]
- Two effect buses with five slots each, drawing on eight algorithms: distortion, parametric EQ, delay, reverb, chorus, bitcrusher, dynamics (compressor or VCA) and filter. The master bus has a three-band multiband compressor and a limiter with soft clip.[2][1]
- Sequencer with 48 patterns (banks A to D, 12 each), up to 64 steps and step sizes from 1/64 to 1/4 with dotted and triplet modifiers. Pattern length and shuffle are set per pattern.[2]
- Per-step flam with delay and grace-note volume, and sub-steps that repeat a step two, three or four times with start and end volumes. Steps are normal or accented, with base and accent velocities, plus a Global Accent track.[2][1]
- D16 describes all 11 instruments, including hi-hats and cymbals, as synthesised, and says it matches "each individual instrument with meticulous accuracy".[2][1]
- Per-instrument synthesis controls include tune, attack, decay, pitch and tune depth on the bass drum, tone and snappy on the snare, and tune and decay on the hats and cymbals.[2]
- Buses and the master can be routed to any of 16 stereo outputs; by default only the master and first output are used. Output setups can be saved and loaded.[2][3]
- Tap mode records steps live from pads or a MIDI keyboard; the randomiser fills tracks with a density control per track and modifiers for accents and articulations.[2][1]
- In Host Note mode each of 48 MIDI notes triggers a pattern. Patterns drag into the DAW as MIDI clips or in Drumazon's own format, and MIDI out can play external instruments.[2][1]
- Up to three audible trigger outputs, short pulses modelled on the original machine's trigger outs, for clocking external gear.[2][1]
- Parameters are disabled for host automation by default and not all can be automated; MIDI Learn and a MIDI Map editor are provided.[2][1]
