About

Acid Sequence is an independent publication about electronic music production: synthesis, sound design, mixing, and the software that makes it possible.

What we publish

Our buying guides start from a question a producer actually asks before spending money, such as which reverb suits ambient work or whether a paid EQ is worth it over a free one. Each guide explains what matters for that job, then compares relevant products.

How we work

  • Facts come from sources. Every product specification, format and system requirement is taken from manufacturer documentation and linked. Each product record shows when it was last checked.
  • We separate facts from opinion. Product facts live in product records. Our analysis appears in guides and is labelled as editorial, including in comparison tables.
  • We don't invent experience. If we haven't tested something hands-on, we don't describe how it sounds. Each guide says how it was researched.
  • We don't list prices. They change too often to keep accurate. We say whether something is free, paid or included with a host, and link to the manufacturer.
  • Unverified claims stay in draft. If we can't confirm a fact, the page isn't published, or the uncertainty is shown on the product record.

Independence

We are not affiliated with any manufacturer we cover. We may in future earn commission through affiliate links; if we do, those links are labelled and they don't decide what we include. See our affiliate disclosure.

Corrections

If a fact on this site is wrong or out of date, please tell us via the contact page. We update the product record and its verification date when we correct it.
